Travelling with 2 small children creates all sorts of fun and challenges. One of those is clothing storage.
We have tried a few different options, bags, soft collapsible shelves but these always had problems. As we are towing a camper trailer on most of our trips we would have space to put the clothes storage when setup but would also need to pack them in the camper or 4wd when on the move.
Bags are simple and easy to store but particularly with the kids cloths we found them to be annoying and hard to keep organised and find things. The kids would also just drag things out and mix them all up.
Soft hanging collapsible shelves. Good in concept but for us did not work well at all. The hanger at the tops were not strong enough for the loaded weight and they tended to lean forward under the weight of the clothes making them all fall out. (not ideal). They also had to be packed laying down so the clothes didn’t fall out.
Storage boxes. We got some 5 drawer plastic storage drawers from the cheapy shop and made them up but with only 3 drawers each due to the packing height limitations, one for each family member. When the camper is setup these stack 2 high and side by side leaving plenty of floor space in the camper. When packed they go 2 deep and 2 wide in the back of the 4wd. For us this works quite well overall as the clothes are well organised, easy to find and less likely to get all mixed up. when packed in the 4wd, they doo take up more room than bags would however with all the cooking, water, fridge, food and sleeping gear in the camper we do not need to put heaps in the 4wd.

have now settled on plastic drawers, one for each family member
